COLLEGE HISTORY

The roots of The Byramjee Jeejeebhoy College of Commerce date as far back as the year 1891 when The Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Parsi Charitable Institution was first established. During that era, it was realized that education was needed to uplift the status of the community and the country at large.

The primary aim and objective of establishing The Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Trust was to help the weaker sections of the community and society by spreading education amongst them. The founding fathers truly believed that “To educate is to liberate”. Seeing the successful working of the school for 107 years, the Board of Trustees felt the need to spread education at the higher level (University level). Thus, The Byramjee Jeejeebhoy College of Commerce saw the light of day in June 1998.
